On February 6th, the American Helicopter Society (AHS) – Concordia Chapter had the honour of receiving Naor Cohen as their guest speaker about Entrepreneurship in the Aerospace Industry.
Mr. Cohen is the founder of Stratos Aviation, a non-profit organization that aims to promote STEM-related activities in the aviation field. The company provides support for students who wish to ingress in the industry by providing scholarships, holding symposiums and offering training sessions on various related subjects. It also features a great number of flight simulators that allows for a fun, yet instructive experience to anyone who wishes to try them.
So, what does it take to be a successful aerospace entrepreneur nowadays?
Unsurprisingly, passion and a great deal of dedication play an important role in this journey. But that’s not all. To quote Mr. Cohen: “Being an entrepreneur is fighting directly against Murphy’s Law. (…) What’s essential is learning how to deal with, and develop from, the mistakes you’ll inevitably make along the way”. Every company suffers setbacks at one point in time, regardless of the efforts put in its management. Knowing how to persevere and to make quick (and often courageous) decisions after such occurrences is what will ultimately set you apart.
More than 30 Concordia University students from all Faculties attended the speech, profiting from the wise knowledge shared by the speaker, and hopefully, acquiring a fresh understanding on entrepreneurship that can be applied to their own business career, shall they choose to pursue it.
AHS Concordia expressed its tremendous gratitude to Mr. Cohen by presenting him with a Certificate of Appreciation and the hopes that he’ll be back again to share even more about his fascinating experience with Stratos Aviation.
AHS Concordia would like to thank Sam Queen for their excellent catering service.
